Eleanor Bayer

Eleanor Armstrong Bayer, age 89, passed away in Mobile, AL on December 3, 2022.  She was born in New York City to John Armstrong and Ena (Foster Curtin) Armstrong.  She met her husband of 71 years, Wyatt Bayer, at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines after WWII and were later married in San Francisco, eventually settling in Mobile.  She loved her church and was an early member of Cottage Hill Baptist where she taught Sunday School, and later attended Dauphin Way.  Ms. Bayer is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Yoko) Bayer, Curtis (Cinda) Bayer, and Eric (Wendy) Bayer, grandchildren Parker, Rachel, Gracen and Ella Bayer and great grandson Wyatt.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many.  Services will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, Dec 12 with visitation at 9:00 am.  Service follows at 10:00, and interment will follow at 12:30 at the Alabama State Veterans cemetery in Spanish Fort.
